a visit with Aunt Mary Ann and Calgary's Heritage Park

abbie's swim meet

I went to Abbie's, my niece, swim meet over the summer. Here are a few photos of the day.

tattoo repair

About a year ago I decided to get my small moon tattoo removed from my right shoulder. Well, the process didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. I apparently had an allergic reaction to the topical ointment which caused hypertrophic (thick) scarring to occur. It was extremely itchy and painful for months after the process. I tried every type of cream to reduce the itch and pain. Mild relief. I had thought about getting steroid injections, but the tattoo ink would still be present. So ugly! Over the summer my brother offered to do an elliptical excision. He numbed the area up, cut around the tattoo and scar, then gathered the under and outer layers together.

Here is the process of recovery:

Unfortunately, my body likes to react with everything, including the sutures. Since the shoulder is such a high area of tension the scar tissue as gradually grown. However, this scar looks a 100 times better than the hypertrophic scar. Over the next year the redness will fade.

sewing projects

Shaelea came to Delta for a visit. We worked on a few sewing projects together. Here is Shaelea's cute skirt.

gone fish'n

Visiting the Muirs in July 2011

On Aaron's lunch break we drove over to the river for some fishing. Shaelea and Aaron actually fished while Juliette and I talked and enjoyed the scenery.

visiting Denver

The last week I've been visiting my brother and his family in Denver, CO. It has been a great time playing with the kids, doing arts, and being taken care of by JP and MA.
