30 isn’t too far away

I've had quite a few friends turn 29 this year. They are dedicating their next year to accomplish 30 adventures or must do's before their 30th birthday. Since my 29th birthday isn't too far away, it has got me thinking about what I should have accomplished by 30. Any good suggestions of what I should see/do?

I decided it was time to be checked for food allergies.  I went to the doctor this week.  After six large vials of blood, I was allowed to leave.  Glad I didn't pass out.

dinosaurs

My nephews are currently obsessed with dinosaurs.  They were entertained with "digging for dinosaurs" for about an hour, even in the blazing heat.  We'd move the dirt around and say "I've found a tyrannosaurus rex" or "Here's the horn to the stegosaurus" or "This one's a brachiosaurus."  I'd forgotten how fun it was to dig in the dirt.  I should do it more often.  Probably not by myself.

window shopping

I've never been a big shopper.  I've never understood those who love to shop.  I don't like lines, or crowds, or commission sales people.  The only time I go shopping is when I have something in mind that I want to buy right then.  Sometimes I will do some research online.  But I like to go, find just what I'm looking for, and then buy it.  I don't like warehouse clothing stores that I have to dig/search for deals.  This week, however, I went window shopping with a friend, and it was actually quite entertaining.  It was at San Tan Mall, an outdoor mall right by my house, and rather slow that night.  The weather was great.  My friend wasn't a great 'window-shopper' because he purchased a few things, but it was cool going through the shops.  Maybe I'd do it again.  Guess if it's with the right person.

Locked out…

Last night we had beautiful weather here, so I decided I should take a walk.  When I left nobody else was home.  I figured I'd just leave the side door unlocked, no problem.  Well, I went for my walk and had a great time.  I turned down our street and realized that the lights were off and the cars gone.  Not a great sign.  I tried opening the side door.  No such luck.  And of course, the front door was locked.  Somewhere in the 30 mins that I had been gone, my roommate had returned, locked everything, and left again.  Hmmm...what to do.  I did have my iTouch with internet access.  FB.  A lifesaver.  Or at least, and evening saver.  I messaged Rachel and she was over shortly to pick me up.  Only about 10 mosquito bites.  We did some detective work and got in contact with Jenna.  Her and Baxter picked me up and all was well.  I guess I deserve it for locking Baxter out in the side yard earlier that day, eh?

I am four

Aunt Sarah: "Max, how old are you?"

Max: "I am four."

We celebrated my nephew's birthday on Saturday.  It was great fun watching him open presents, play with friends and family, and of course devour his birthday cupcake.

Max:

Thanks for having such a great birthday Max!

FB

Facebook aka FB is really addicting.  I find myself spending way more time that I should checking the latest status updates, glancing through pictures, and such. It is nice to be 'caught' up without actually having to talk with anyone.  But before I know it, an hour has gone by and I've done nothing productive.  I am considering closing my account.

My brother, Phil, and his wife, Marlene, had their 4th child.  I was able to go home for Will's baby blessing.  It was fun had by all.

Park City

I went to Park City for an Advanced Wilderness Life Support course.  It was awesome.  I loved being in Utah and especially being in the mountains.  PC is always a fun place to be and it is particularly beautiful right now.  I really didn't take any pictures because I was mostly in class.  We did, however, have class outdoors in the afternoons.  That was a nice surprise.  And I passed the course.  Makes it even that much better.

Amanda came down from WY and took the course with me.  It was great seeing, visiting, and catching up on life and changes. This is the newest addition of her family.  Teagan aka Gus.

Day 32

I'm really tired of salads with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  It gets boring after a time.  Unfortunately, most places I ate didn't have a gluten-dairy free menu.  I did survive, though.  People keep asking how I'm feeling.  I feel the same as before.  Probably better, but I just don't know it.  I have had less headaches, less anxiety, improved sleep, and increased energy.  I guess that counts for something, eh?  Not sure if and when I will start adding in gluten-dairy foods.  There are plenty of substitutes, just not at the restaurants.

Scott and Sandra

Scotty and Sandra were married at the SLC temple on June 3, 2010.  Scotty and I went to ATSU's PA program together.  We spent many nights studying at library.  Glad those days are over.  It was such a nice, happy day in SLC and wonderful to share the time with Scotty and Sandra.  I am grateful for the sealing power within the temple walls, and the opportunity to have eternal families if we strive to do what is commanded from God.

Happy Day

My Macbook decided to take a vaca at the Apple shop.  Thankfully I survived the week without my computer, and it is now safely back in my arms with only a few repairs done.

Memorial weekend was busy being on call for work, but Memorial Day was great fun at JP and Mary Ann's.  Jenna, my roommate, and I went over for a BBQ with family and friends.  It was such a nice time.  I am grateful for the freedom's we have and for those who sacrifice their time and lives for us to enjoy it.
