Oracle Caves with Williams YSA ward

Yesterday I went with my singles ward to Peppersauce Caves just outside of Oracle, AZ.  We had an adventurous drive down there.  We were quite surprised by the distance, but enjoyed it.  The town of Oracle was celebrating the Oak Festival with all sorts of exciting things like a Carnival, a Car Show, boutiques, food, and more...  We passed by and eventually made it to the entrance of the caves.

Then we hiked in...

Some people swam in the cave water...who knows what was living in it!

Thankfully, I made it out alive...

Oracle Caves with Williams Ward

I have a hard time with confined spaces and have to continually remind myself to breath.  The dirt inside varied in consistency depending on how my water was dripping or being absorbed.  I definitely slid a few times and almost lost my shoes because the mud would be so sticky.  It was a great way to spend my Saturday!

I can always count on…

having a great time with Max!  We had an unplanned date Friday afternoon, and it turned out great!  It was very sad to leave Ian behind, especially when he had a pouty sad puppy dog face as we pulled out of the driveway.  Once Ian is big enough to sit through an entire movie, it will be our turn.  Max and I went to see "How to train a dragon."  I definitely enjoyed the film, and I think Max liked it too!  He said his favorite part was "the scary dragon."  I sure love spending time with him.

Earth Day

I did contribute by buying a reusable grocery bag.

Here are some rad pictures.  I stole this link from my cousins page.  Check this out - Earth Day Photo's 2010.

Tuesday TPUM

It's going to be a Tuesday ritual with my roommate, Jenna.  Tennis, Pizza, Udder Delight, Movie. All on a Tuesday night. We are totally mixing things up.  And I like it.  Tonight was the first night.

I love tennis. I watched some tennis while babysitting Canon last weekend. It got me all excited about buying a new racket and some real tennis shoes. Doing some research before the big purchase. And I might even order a tennis magazine. Wow! I might be over doing it. YES!! I'm really looking forward to TPUM each week.

Anyone is welcome to join in the fun with us.

Easter Weekend

It was a beautiful Easter weekend.  I enjoyed listening to General Conference and remembering Christ's Atonement.  One of my favorite talks was by President Uchtdort during the Sunday Morning session.   I always love listening to the First Presidency and other leaders.  They give great guidance and counsel for each of us.  I am so grateful that Christ lives!

Thursday night I spent coloring eggs with Rachel.  Check out her pictures here.

Friday night I went out with some co-workers to wish Kelsey, the PA student, goodbye.  She has worked in our office the past 12 weeks, mostly with Cheryl, but a few days with me.  I will miss her!  Best of luck with Boards and job hunting!

Kelsey's going away party...back to Minnesota, don'tcha know!

Saturday night I did get to babysit for the Rhey's.  Canon is adorable.  We just chilled, but he has the cutest giggle.  I did watch part of "Marley and Me" and it is such a tear-jerker.  I have seen it before, but I still cried.

Easter dinner I went to my friend Maya's house for a potluck dinner with ward members.  It was nice to get out of the house and visit with some other friends.  Great way to celebrate Easter.

Newest best friend… Baxter!

Baxter

Baxter, my roommates dog, is pretty cool.  He's always excited to see me, or her, when we get home from work.  He loves to play tag.  Great at hide-n-seek when it's time to go into the kennel.  Enjoys snuggling on the bed.  Good at tricks, especially when a treat is involved.  Always ready to go on a walk with me.  Willing to listen.  We did take a short adventure on the bike together the other day.  There is a basket on one of the cruisers, so I put him in there.  He didn't really like it at first.  He was on all four paws, alert, waiting for something to happen.  It was difficult having the basket off balance like that, but eventually he sat down in the basket.  About that time is when I hit the curb and we almost toppled onto the concrete.  Luckily, I stopped it with my head in the fence.  Minor brain damage.  And the dog was safe.  So, pretty much it was a successful first ride together.   Not sure if there will be a next time!  Overall, Baxter is a great dog and I sure enjoy having him around.

Favorite place...under the bed!
