sprinkler, sprinkler come today

It was a HOT day in CO. Ian and Ava were playing outside in the sprinklers --- naked. Max came outside ready to strip down. But before that could happen, I had them race to get their swimsuits on. Then it was a party in the sprinkler. The water was actually really cold and I can't believe they even ran thru the water. They did. At least once. Then it was all about finding some sunshine to warm up in.

delta -- you will be missed!

Monday night baseball

Labor Day evening I headed to Orem to spend some time with Phil and his family. We went to a baseball game, played at the park, and watched fireworks!

the art of moving

It took my Mom and I about a month to dejunk, pack, clean, paint, and actually move from Delta to Midway. Thankfully, Mom had done a lot of work over the last 3 years. I am so grateful to my brothers, the Delta 1st Ward High Priest, and the Michie cousins that helped us load, drive, and unload the U-Haul.

Never ending boxes...

Updated bathroom...

Updated kitchen...

Cleaning off the old purple paint... It bubbled after priming it! Not a fun project.

Purple room is now white...

The lime green room. Mom's favorite color. I slightly nudged (or violently pushed) her that the color HAD to be changed!

Ah... better! A calm gray color. We also tore up the very old linoleum flooring and brown washed the original wood.

The room partially put together...

With the hall/closet...

The front room.

After all that painting -- I never want to see paint again.

Brianna's Wedding

My younger cousin, Brianna, was married this summer. My mom and I made a quick trip over to Price for the evening. We picked up my nieces, Abbie & Ella, on the way.

Definitely entertained by these two cute girls!

Aunt Gail and Uncle Stewart

Gus, Charlie, Amanda, and Trent

I made a quick trip up to Lyman, WY to visit the Barnes' family. Their little boy, Gus, is growing up and quite the character. We have fun playing with the balloon, watching Cars, and throwing the frisbee for Charlie.

Snowbird 2011

Last minute I decided to go to the Snowbird, Utah Conference 2011. I met up with my friends, Kristen Cheney and Jeff Pulley, and we had a good time!! Kristen, her dad, and I went on a hike up Cottonwood Canyon. It was full of wildflowers. Beautiful day to be outside!

abbie's swim meet

I went to Abbie's, my niece, swim meet over the summer. Here are a few photos of the day.

Playing in the park just outside the swim pool.

Abbie racing!

Watching Abbie race!

tattoo repair

About a year ago I decided to get my small moon tattoo removed from my right shoulder. Well, the process didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. I apparently had an allergic reaction to the topical ointment which caused hypertrophic (thick) scarring to occur. It was extremely itchy and painful for months after the process. I tried every type of cream to reduce the itch and pain. Mild relief. I had thought about getting steroid injections, but the tattoo ink would still be present. So ugly! Over the summer my brother offered to do an elliptical excision. He numbed the area up, cut around the tattoo and scar, then gathered the under and outer layers together.

Here is the process of recovery:

Unfortunately, my body likes to react with everything, including the sutures. Since the shoulder is such a high area of tension the scar tissue as gradually grown. However, this scar looks a 100 times better than the hypertrophic scar. Over the next year the redness will fade.
