Bye-bye Suba Ned, Welcome home Cora Cora!

The past six months have been a nightmare for me trying to fix Ned, my Subaru Impreza.  Wed at the auto shop was the last straw.  I didn't pass emission and thought it was going to be a simple replacement of my Knock Sensor for $215.  However, once the mechanic had my car torn apart, he noticed a few things that concerned him.  We didn't run any extra tests because he was pretty positive my head gasket had  a leak.  That's a $1400 repair, plus my a/c is broken and the knock sensor was burnt out.  And who knows how long my car would've lasted after that.  After discussing my options with a few different people, I decided it was time to say good-bye to my long time friend Ned.  Once that was determined, it was mad chaos, time consuming internet research with help from JP, and test driving vehicles with Rachel.  Unfortunately, with a lack of income, my budget does not cover what I would really want.  However, last night I found an ad for a Toyota Corolla within my price range.  Ned really isn't worth much and I still owed a little on it.  I went with Jake and let him work his negotiating magic.  Out the door price of $17,500 I am pleased with my purchase.  No more car problem headaches!!!

I've been terrible at updating my blog.  I've been busy at the doctor's office, but still enjoying family med.

Easter was nice.  I went out to JP and Mary Ann's and spent it with them, the boys, Rachel and Zac.  I will post pictures soon.  Flickr is being stupid with uploading my pics, or it's my dumb internet service.

Steve came to town for his brother's wedding!  So we met up at country dance last week.  We had a fun time!  Yeehaa!!

Utah trip

I had my trip to Utah last weekend.  I went up for my friend Heidi's wedding.  Her and Adam were married in the Draper, UT LDS temple.  Besides the wedding, there was a few people I wanted to see while there.  First off, my favorite part of the weekend was when I went to pick up my rental.  I get my keys and sign my life away, then head out to the parking lot.  I looked down the row and see some killer looking cars, then I see a bright yellow economy sized vehicle and think to myself "I'm pretty sure that's my car."  I walk down the row, and sure enough it had my number.

Thursday night I went to Heidi and Adam's wedding dinner.  It was a wonderful night.  An exciting part of the night was dinner.  We had all eaten our salad, moved on to the main course, and we were getting ready for dessert.  Me being an excessively slow eater (got that from my mother) and apparently I talked a lot that night, I wasn't finished with my meal just yet.  Well, the server walked past, and from the corner of her eyes saw that my plate was still there.  I was just eating my steak like a good little customer.  I had turned my head to the left listening in on a conversation, and then turned back for another bite, and my plate was gone.  My mouth was full so I couldn't yell at the lady that I wasn't finished and wanted my plate back.  Instead I started laughing.  I guess the server didn't think I needed to finish off my meal.  It was the funniest thing at our table the rest of the night.

Wedding Dinner - Adam and Heidi Sarah and Heidi

I spent the night at Phil and Mar's in Orem.  The next morning I enjoyed with my mom there as well.  WE went for a nice chilly morning walk.

Utah Rocks!

The actual wedding was wonderful!  Heidi and Adam were married in the Draper LDS Temple.

All married!

That night I stayed over at Riley, Leesa, and Kingston's house.  We played Ticket to Ride.  So fun!

Saturday morning was Oscar's birthday party.  And it was quite the party!!

Utah Rocks!

A fun-filled afternoon of "Luke, Luke, Darth Vader" and relay with the lightsavers.

Star Wars cake

Yeah for Star Wars!

Me and the boys

I enjoyed the afternoon with the Forsbergs in Layton City Park.  We played chase on the playground, the boys got sick on the merry-go-round, and I chilled on the swings.  It was a beautiful day outside.

Janae, Raelee, Ken Deanna and Cynthia

Sarah and Lindsey Smith Denise and Sarah

That night I got to visit with some friends.  I stopped by Janae and Ken's and met little Raelee.  Then went to dinner with Deanna, Cynthia, and Lindsey.  I stayed the night and Denise's and enjoyed the day with her family.

All in all, the trip was super great.

jam packed

This weekend was full of fun and not so fun adventures.

Friday night started off with my car acting up while I was driving home from the prison.  Thank goodness my radiator will be replaced sometime this week (crossing my fingers).  That night was great, though.  Josh and I went to Godiva at Chandler Mall and picked out all sorts of delicious chocolates to try while we wandered around the shops.  Then we played games with his grandma, Virginia.  Josh won all the games, but I'm sure he cheated somehow.  It was a most enjoyable night.

Kristen and Sarah

Saturday we had Kristen's birthday BBQ.  I really just went and enjoyed myself.  We laughed, watched the soccer game at the park, talked and talked, and watched the boys flying the kite, and talked about school (surprise, that's all we talk about). Cadence (Pulley's newest baby girl) was so sweet.  I loved just watching her smile and giggle.

Cadence somehow got in the picture without her mother Chelsi.  There was plenty of food and treats to indulge myself in!  And just great company to hang out with.

I unfortunately had to work on my thesis paper (deadline in coming way too soon) and the usual cleaning and laundry.  And seasonal allergies and headaches are most unpleasant when you have things to accomplish.  I love springtime, but I hate all the pollen that sets my allergies off.  There isn't enough medication in all the world to make me feel better.

This morning was our visiting teaching brunch.  I love getting together to get to know the girls we visit better.  And food tends to be a great way to bring us all in.  Plus we get a great lesson to uplift us.

All in all, it was a great weekend.

I'm getting really excited to come to UT next week, too!  It will be great to see some family and friends, and share in Heidi's wedding day!

The weekend was pretty good.  I watched "Australia" on Friday with my friend Ty.  Hugh Jackman is an attractive cowboy!  Saturday I actually worked on my thesis (something I should be doing right now), prepared my Sunday School lesson, bridal shower dinner, and then ice-cream and party hopping with John, Jared, and Scott.  Sunday was the "Going Away Party" for Dave and Crystal.  Ryan Hardy made delicious Hawaiian chicken.  Yesterday I got to leave an hour early from work, so I stopped by JP and MA's.  I went to the park with the boys, then out for sushi at Sushi Eye and frozen yogurt with John H, Justin, Travis and Melanie.

Crystal, Me, Heidi

Crystal's Bridal Shower was dinner at Nando's in Mesa.  It was pretty good food, and great company.

I love my owner, Crystal

Going away party for Crystal and Dave!  Higley, the dog, was given to Crystal as part of the proposal from Dave.   Higley has gotten big over the last few months.

He just wants to play

Higley didn't listen to me quite as well.  He just wanted to play!

I can see you!

Max, Ian, and I went to the park yesterday.  We had a pretty good time playing in the sand, chasing each other, and going down the slide.... Until the cat came!  Max was playing in the bushes when a neighborhood cat darted towards his direction.  All I could hear was panic in his high-pitched scream as he was trapped within the area of the bushes.  Once he got out he ran towards me saying "Mama, mama, I want my mama."  I tried calming him down and explained we can go home to mama or stay at the park.  "I no go home.  I want mama.  No stroller."  With gasps of air between phrases!  We stayed at the park, but Max's eyes were always searching for the cat.  Eventually I couldn't handle having him stay right by my side, so it was time to head home.

I love to climb

Ian didn't mind the cat!  All he wanted to do was climb up the stairs and then climb down the stairs.  Occasionally, I could  get him to go down the slide with me.  The rush always brought a big smile to his face.  But he would then go back to climbing the stairs.  "Up, up, up!" he'd say as he climbed.

Weekend Update!

Heidi & Patrick Lally Wedding - Oakland Temple

I went to Oakland, California for Heidi and Patrick's wedding this weekend.  I met up with Natasha (my old roommate) and we had a great time!  Here is a picture of the Oakland temple with me trying to be artistic.

Another one of me.  Natasha and I also explored some of Oakland shops.

Josh making me smoothies...hahaha!

I talked my cute friend, Josh, into picking me up from the airport (rather late) with the incentive of a smoothie.  Well, it worked out great for me, because Josh made the smoothies, too.  Good thing he knows what to do.  Fruit smoothies are the best!  Definitely enjoying the blender (Thanks JP and MA).  I just relaxed and enjoyed being back home.
